News Quiz Finds the Gap Between Recognition and Recall
· New York time
NPR's current-affairs quiz asks how much money Musk has given Republican groups since July, alongside items about White House comings and goings and entertainment news. The format turns a week of passing familiarity into a more exacting memory exercise. The political-money question demands a number, not simply recognition that Musk has been active. This is where the brain discovers it filed a story under “large sum, important person.” A quiz is a small but effective audit of attention. The confidently familiar headline still has to survive contact with the answer box.
