The arrangement puts game information into the same environment where people react to the action. For sports creators, that offers a more specific ingredient than another burst of emphatic punctuation. A live statistic can anchor a point, while useful commentary connects it to what viewers are watching. The feed is gaining another way to accompany the game rather than merely discuss it afterward. This will not necessarily make the conversation calmer. A dashboard can provide real-time evidence while someone continues announcing that the season is over after one possession. At least the despair may now arrive with supporting numbers.
